1st Up North Combine Arras 2024

7 x 1st North East Counties Federation 2024

4 x 1st UNC Section 4 (more than any other loft) 2024

The past year has been a difficult period, marked by both highs and lows. Last November, we faced a significant loss when Uncle Norman lost his beloved wife of 63 years, Auntie Jean (Jeanie). Her passing was a crushing blow to us all, and she will forever remain in our hearts.

Amidst the sorrow, we were fortunate to have the support of our lifelong friend, Colin Jackson. His active involvement, knowledge, and experience have been invaluable, significantly contributing to the successes we have achieved over the past year.

Our family of birds, which includes the Van den Bulks and Leo Heremans from Mick Collins and Trevor Taylor, has continued to perform exceptionally well. We have had the privilege of topping the very strong North East Counties Federation seven times and achieving victories in the ultra-competitive Section 4 of the UNC four times.

As we reflect on the past year, we are reminded of the strength that comes from our family of birds.

Highlights of the year would be Maidstone when Taylor Made Two won 12th Up North Combine 7,506 birds, nine of the birds beating him flying more than 20 miles less with the remaining two more than 10 miles less. An outstanding performance on the day.

The icing on the cake came from Arras after being persuaded to send by our friend Dave Baxter. Our beautiful Grizzle hen, now lovingly named Jeanie, came and won us the Gold medal, topping the Up North Combine.

We are a racing loft and the winners that continue to come for us and others is remarkable. These are incredible birds and you will not need to look far in the pedigrees to find Federation and section winners.

Best wishes to you all.

John, Uncle Norman and Colin
